Dutch Fortissimo Films promoting “Song of Sparrows”

TEHRAN -- The acclaimed Iranian film “The Song of Sparrow” is being distributed internationally by the Netherlands’ Fortissimo Film Sales.

Fortissimo Films has distributed the film, directed by Majid Majidi, so far in Belgium, France, Greece, Norway, Portugal, South Africa, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Colombia, Mexico, the United States, and Germany.
Iranian movie theaters will begin screening of the film on October 1 and the above countries are scheduled to begin premiering simultaneously.
“The Song of Sparrows”, which features a bittersweet parable about the struggles of a rural family living outside Tehran, debuted at the 58th Berlin Film Festival and the 26th Fajr International Film Festival in Tehran in February 2008.
The film won Berlin’s Best Actor Silver Bear for Reza Naji and Fajr’s Best Director Crystal Simorgh for Majidi.
